Bayern Munich have work to do before the end of the season. Needless to say, the Bundesliga is out of their hands and this is likely to be confirmed in due course. However, Thomas Tuchel could still make a success out of his first (and last) full season with Bayern Munich by winning the Champions League.

Currently, they are held to a 2-2 draw with Arsenal, following their dramatic Emirates Stadium showdown. However, they have the home advantage in the second leg as they hope to challenge Arsenal further as they host them at the infamous Allianz Arena.

Should Bayern Munich progress to the Champions League semifinal, they will face one of Manchester City or Real Madrid, who are also held to a tie in their fixture. Manchester City are the champions of the competition but Real Madrid are known as the kings of Europe. Certainly, Man City boss Pep Guardiola will have an eye on his former club Bayern Munich for more than one reason.

Manchester City lead race to sign Jamal Musiala from Bayern Munich

According to a report by English outlet The Independent, Manchester City are currently leading the race to sign Jamal Musiala as Pep Guardiola is a huge fan of him. Of course, Liverpool, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain also remain interested, Man City just have the advantage at this stage.

Needless to say, Bayern Munich will be desperate to keep ahold of their key player. However, they recognise that this probably isn't a realistic option. Spending a season in the Bayern Munich youth academy, he has developed into one of the best players in the world during his time in the Bundesliga.

He is in particularly hot form at the time of this transfer news emerging. Hence why clubs are already forming an orderly queue to sign him ahead of the summer transfer window. In his last 10 games across all competitions, Musiala has scored five goals and provided four assists. That's almost a goal contribution every game.

Musiala is still just 21 years old so he has his entire future ahead of him. Certainly, he has the potential to become the best player in the world and this is recognised by clubs across Europe.

Musiala is under contract at Bayern Munich until 2026 so they are in no immediate rush to sell him but if the right offer comes in, they will undeniably be tempted.
