Harry Kane joined Bayern Munich last summer to win titles after failing to do so with Tottenham Hotspur. Although Bayern will lift the Bundesliga title this season, Kane has held his end of the bargain by scoring consistently in the league. Die Roten lost the momentum in the second half of the season to concede the title to Bayer Leverkusen.

Kane continued his prolific scoring form against Eintracht Frankfurt by scoring two goals. The English forward has scored 35 goals in the Bundesliga. He has also found the back of the net six times in the Champions League, including the decisive second goal against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the first leg of the quarter-finals.

The English forward has been outstanding while creating chances for other forwards. Kane has racked up 11 assists for Bayern across all competitions. He is on course to win the Golden Boot in the Bundesliga and Europe’s top five leagues.

Along with ending the season as the top scorer in the Bundesliga, Kane also has the chance of breaking Robert Lewandowski’s record for most league goals in a single Bundesliga campaign. While talking to Sky Sports on Saturday, Kane showed optimism about breaking the Polish striker’s record. Lewandowski had scored 41 league goals in 2020/21.

"It's possible, but obviously I have to get a move on. I've got to maybe score a few goals next week. It's there, it's in touching distance. It depends on the last few games of course. But it was nice to add to it today and score a couple of goals to help the team."

Kane needs seven goals in three games to break Lewandowski’s record. He has scored five goals in the last five league games. The English forward didn’t find the back of the net in the games against FC Koln and Borussia Dortmund during this run of games, effectively scoring five goals across three games.

Bayern face VfB Stuttgart, Wolfsburg, and Hoffenheim in the final three-game weeks of the season. With Kane returning to form after a small barren spell, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he breaks Lewandowski’s record.

It will be a phenomenal achievement from Kane if he ends up breaking the record. His goalscoring record this season shows why Bayern broke their transfer record to sign him last summer. Kane is also an excellent mentor for a young forward like Mathys Tel.

Bayern and Tuchel hope to see Kane extend the red-hot goalscoring form against Real Madrid on Tuesday. Despite having a sensational campaign as an individual, Kane is desperate to win a trophy. Die Roten can end the season by going all the way in the Champions League. They will need a handy lead on Tuesday before the second leg at Santiago Bernabeu in a week’s time.
