Harry Kane believes that Vincent Kompany has brought a fresh energy and impetus to Bayern Munich since joining the club in the summer.

In a move that came as a big surprise to everyone in football, Bayern Munich appointed Vincent Kompany as their head coach following their decision to part ways with Thomas Tuchel.

The Belgian made his Bayern debut on Friday, leading the team to a 4-0 win over 2. Bundesliga side SSV Ulm in the first round of the DFB-Pokal. Harry Kane was on target for the Bavarians after coming off the bench. And he was full of praise of Kompany after the game.

"I like him a lot. He has brought in a good fresh energy," Kane said (via Sky Sport). "The way he wants to play with a lot of possession and high pressure, a lot of attacks to try and score many goals, I think that really suits us. I believe that we will understand his ideas better week by week and improve steadily. But my first impressions are really good."

Kane enjoyed an excellent first season at Bayern Munich but failed to lead the club to a trophy. His aim for his sophomore season will be to win silverware that has eluded him his entire career.

With progress in the DFB-Pokal secured, Bayern Munich will now turn their focus to the start of their Bundesliga season. A tricky away game against VfL Wolfsburg lies in store for Vincent Kompany's side next weekend. Kane will hope to play from the start and begin his Bundesliga campaign with a goal.
