Former Bayern Munich manager signs for Barcelona
By Kian Long
Many great people have represented both Barcelona and Bayern Munich throughout history. As players, the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Arturo Vidal and Thiago Alcantara all jump to mind. As managers, there is one name who sticks out above all else, Pep Guardiola.
Pep Guardiola sticks out above the rest because he is one of the best managers in the history of the game. Both Barcelona and Bayern Munich know about his incredible pedigree as manager, since both sides benefitted from having Pep at the helm for their glory years.
Well, one other more Bayern Munich manager will hope to have even half the legacy that Pep had at FC Barcelona, as it is believed he will sign a Camp Nou contract in the coming days.

Former Bayern Munich manager signs for Barcelona
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, former Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick is in Barcelona today (Tuesday 28 May) and he is expected to sign a new contract as Barcelona manager tomorrow (Wednesday 29 May). It will be a deal which sees Flick as the Barcelona manager until June 2026.
There was talk that Bayern Munich were considering re-hiring Hansi Flick as their new manager. Thomas Tuchel underperformed in the 2023/24 season so the decision was set a while ago that he would leave the club this summer. While there was talk that Tuchel could stay beyond this summer, the German himself has decided that he will seek a new adventure instead.
Barcelona found themselves in a similar position of wishing to hire Hansi Flick, given their departing manager. Xavi has also underperformed as head coach at Camp Nou so despite his incredible legacy as a player, he was deemed unfit for purpose in Catalonia heading forward.
Hansi Flick is the best Bayern Munich manager since Pep Guardiola. Boasting two Bundesliga titles, one Champions League, one DFB-Pokal, one DFL-Supercup, the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup during his two year stint as Bayern Munich manager, he has great pedigree at the Allianz Arena.
Unfortunately for Bayern Munich fans, though, it was not in Flick's long-term desire to manage Die Roten. Instead, he wished to manage the Germany international team, so that is exactly what he did. It is sad to say that he won't return to Bayern this summer.
That said, Bayern Munich are excited to welcome Vincent Kompany from the 2024/25 summer.
Do you think Hansi Flick will be a success at FC Barcelona?
