Defenders
Kim Min-jae
Kim Min-jae's name on this list is a bit harsh, but it is down to the high expectations Die Roten have of him. The South Korean defender struggled for form after the Asian Cup last season after playing almost every game in the first half of the season. He often found himself on the bench during the second half of the season. With a summer break and a full pre-season, there will be expectations from Kim to consistently show his quality as he looks to nail a place in the starting XI. Reports so far are suggesting that the South Korean defender is having a productive pre-season so far.
Alphonso Davies
Alphonso Davies has been linked with Real Madrid for a while, even before his wonder goal against the Spanish giants in the Champions League semi-finals last season. Davies has lacked consistency over the last few seasons and feels like the same player he was during the famous treble season. A player of Davies' quality at 19 is very promising. At 23, not so much. Davies has reportedly been demanding a €20 million salary to extend his stay in Bavaria . With his contract ending in 12 months, and will need to seriously improve his consistency and quality if he wants to earn such type of salary at Die Roten or another club.
