Heidenheim Team News

Frank Schmidt has done a brilliant job with Heidenheim in their first season in the Bundesliga. Having led them up from the fourth tier of German football, Schmidt has last season's 2. Bundesliga winners in 11th place in the Bundesliga standings. After grabbing a point vs Stuttgart last time out, Heidenheim will be looking to claim another big scalp this weekend.

Kevin Müller will start in goal for Heidenheim, with Omar Traoré lining up at right-back along with Jonas Föhrenbach on the left. Patrick Mainka and Benedikt Gimber will be tasked with keeping Harry Kane quiet.

Jan Schöppner will likely start in midfield, along with USMNT international Lennard Maloney, with Norman Theuerkauf missing out through illness. Marvin Pieringer joined Heidenheim last summer from Schalke and should start as the attacking midfielder. Eren Dinkçi and Jan-Niklas Beste have both been excellent out wide for Heidenheim this season, and could cause a few problems to the Bayern defence on the counter.

Tim Kleindienst has been the main striker for Heidenheim this season, and he goes into Saturday's game fresh after scoring a brace against Stuttgart.

Expected Heidenheim Starting XI: Müller - Traoré, P. Mainka, Gimber, Föhrenbach - Schöppner, Maloney - Dinkci, Pieringer, Beste - Kleindienst

Score Prediction: FC Heidenheim 1-3 Bayern Munich

Heidenheim have been one of the surprises of the Bundesliga this season. They have made a habit of grabbing points and frustrating the so-called big teams. But Bayern Munich will be hungry to get back to winning ways, and the changes could ignite the spark the team needs before the trip to London. Harry Kane will look to get back on the score-sheet and Serge Gnabry will aim to make a successful return to the starting XI.
