Bayern Munich are set to extend the contract of one of the most talented youngsters in their academy, Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The new hierarchy at Bayern Munich has started to put more focus on the club's youth academy. And those in charge have now taken a huge step to extend the contract of one of the most exciting young players in the club's youth ranks.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Matteo Pérez Vinlöf has agreed to sign a contract extension with Bayern Munich. The Swedish full-back's new contract will see him stay at the club until 2027. And the report adds that he will spend next season out on loan at Austria Wien.

Bayern will hope that Vinlöf can take the next steps in his development at Austria Wien, much like Frans Krätzig did last season before joining VfB Stuttgart on loan this summer.

Matteo Pérez Vinlöf made his Bundesliga debut last season

Vinlöf is rated very highly at Bayern Munich, and was part of the club's second team squad that played in the Regionalliga last season. The 18 year old was rewarded for his performances with a spot in the Bayern Munich first-team squad in May, and he made his Bundesliga debut at the Allianz Arena against VfL Wolfsburg.

A call-up to the Sweden senior team then followed for Vinlöf, who has taken big leaps in his development over the last two seasons.

It will be exciting to watch the development of Matteo Pérez Vinlöf in the coming months. He is sure to play regularly in the Austrian Bundesliga, and will hope to force his way into Bayern's first-team plans after that.
