With two months left in the season, clubs have started working on plans for the next campaign. It will be a tricky summer since the European Championship will take place at the end of the season. Since players will return from vacation on different dates, clubs must plan pre-season accordingly. Bayern Munich have made the first announcement of pre-season plans this week.

The Bavarian club will travel to Asia for the pre-season tour. For the second consecutive year, Bayern will visit Asia for pre-season games. Die Roten have confirmed that they will be visiting South Korea. It remains to be seen if they will also go to other Asian countries as they have done in the past.

Bayern are certainly looking to expand their reach in the Asian market. A trip to South Korea makes sense for Die Roten since they currently have one of the biggest stars of South Korean football in Kim Min-jae in their first team.

Die Roten played against Kawasaki, Manchester City, and Liverpool during their tour of Asia in 2023. The games against Kawasaki and Manchester City took place in Japan, while Liverpool faced Bayern in Singapore. Rekordmeister are yet to provide details about the opponents and how many games they will play during the tour.

The record Bundesliga champions have a lot of work to do before the team travels to Asia. Die Roten have to sort out the head coach position since Thomas Tuchel will be leaving at the end of the season. They are working on a deal to sign Xabi Alonso from Bayer Leverkusen to replace Tuchel.

Along with the coaching change, Bayern are also expected to make several changes in the squad. After a disappointing campaign in the Bundesliga, club chiefs believe that some tough decisions will be made in the squad building process to achieve sustained success over the next few years. Joshua Kimmich and Alphonso Davies have been linked with moves away from Bavaria as part of this rebuild.

There will likely be several new faces in the squad for Bayern during the pre-season tour. Since European international players may join the tour later due to Euros, Die Roten may take several young players from the academy for this tour. Max Eberl and Christoph Freund will look to get the majority of the business done before the tour, which will allow the new coach to get more time with the players on the training ground.
