Leon Goretzka

In tandem with Konrad Laimer, Leon Goretzka once again made things difficult for Arsenal’s midfielders. It was another composed performance from the box-to-box midfielder. Goretzka defended well and once again picked the right moment to be an attacking threat. He came close to opening the scoring in the second half. His presence in the midfield kept Bayern solid defensively, while the perfectly timed runs in the final third made him a threat for Arsenal's defense.

Goretzka has gradually become one of Bayern’s most consistent performers this season. Thomas Tuchel didn’t consider Goretzka as his first choice midfield option at the start of the campaign. The German international worked hard and made the most of his chances to cement a place in the starting XI. The Bavarian faithful will hope to see similar performances from Goretzka when Bayern play against Real Madrid in the semi-finals.
