Joshua Kimmich

Talk about lifting your game for the big occasion, then look no further than Joshua Kimmich. The German international delivered a commanding performance in Bayern’s biggest game of the season. Kimmich started slowly from the right-back position, as Bayern conceded possession in the first half. The German international made his presence felt at both ends of the pitch. Just moments into the second half, he brilliantly picked out Leon Goretzka with a cross. Goretzka was unfortunate to see his header hit the crossbar, but it was a sign of what was to come.

Playing with passion and intelligence, Kimmich used his head in more ways than one as he eventually scored the winning goal with a bullet header. The German international was Bayern’s best defender on the evening and deservedly took home the man-of-the match award. He silenced the critics by coming up with a big performance at the biggest stage.
