Harry Kane
Harry Kane made his intentions clear early on in Berlin. With just five minutes on the clock, the England international stung the palms of Union Berlin’s goalkeeper Frederik Ronnow. In added time of the first half, Kane regained his goal-scoring touch in spectacular fashion. His direct free-kick to make it 2-0 from more than 20 meters out completely deceived Ronnow.
The ongoing season’s frontrunner to win the European Golden Shoe award had the opposition’s defenders toiling all evening. Kane was both a goal-scorer and a goal-provider in Berlin. He took up intelligent positions throughout the game leaving the opposition’s defence unable to figure out where the biggest threat on goal was coming from. If he can build on this type of performance ahead of the Champions League semifinals against Real Madrid, then a place in the final could be on the horizon for Bayern.
