Thomas Muller

Having not been called into action during the 1-0 win against Arsenal earlier in the week, Thomas Muller showed what a true professional he is against Union Berlin. With injuries to multiple forwards a great source of bother, Muller started as the number ten and excelled in the role.

In 84 minutes of play, the 34-year-old veteran scored twice for the visitors while impressively pressing the opposition at every opportunity. Had Goretzka not bossed the midfield so impressively, Muller would have taken the man-of-the-match award. The German forward was not entirely pleased with his performance but showed a lot of grit and determination to help Bayern get all three points. Muller’s experience will come in very handy for Thomas Tuchel in the upcoming big Champions League games against Real Madrid.
