On matchday 30 of the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich followed up the massive midweek 1-0 win over Arsenal with an emphatic 5-1 hammering of Union Berlin at the Alte Fosterei Stadium. Courtesy of the win against Union Berlin, Bayern maintained a gap of seven points over the fourth-placed RB Leipzig.
Leon Goretzka opened the scoring for Bayern midway through the first half. There was no looking back for the visitors after the first goal. Harry Kane doubled the lead before the half-time whistle to extinguish Union Berlin’s hopes of getting back into the game during the second half. The Bavarian club scored three more goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half to seal all three points.
In a game where both teams played with attacking intent, the class of Bayern Munich was unmatched, not just in attack but also in midfield. While all of Die Roten’s forwards and midfielders produced impressive performances, the following three stood out the most.
