Tuchel’s midfield selection against Arsenal

Leon Goretzka and Konrad Laimer did a fine job for Bayern in the center of the park against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. They disrupted Arsenal’s play to a good effect, allowing Bayern to initiate counter-attacks.

Tuchel will also have the option of playing Aleksandar Pavlovic in the midfield on Wednesday. The 19-year-old midfielder has been in brilliant form for Bayern in Ruckrunde. He has missed a couple of games due to illness. He got much-needed game time under his belt against FC Koln on Sunday.

The German coach also has a decision to make regarding the attacking midfield position. Since Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman are injured, Jamal Musiala may have to play on the left flank. In such a scenario, Thomas Muller will slot in the number ten position. Alternatively, Tuchel can use Mathys Tel on the left flank and keep Musiala in the number ten position.

With several options at his disposal in midfield, Tuchel will have a lot of tactical flexibility throughout the game.
