Bayern Munich have decided to stop contract talks with Alphonso Davies. They are allowing Davies to enter the final year of his contract. Unless there is a significant offer for Davies later in the summer transfer window, he is expected to stay in Munich.

Vincent Kompany reportedly considers Davies a key part of his plans for next season. The Belgian coach wanted Davies to sign a new deal. Davies will get a considerable amount of game time next season despite his contract situation.

The Canadian defender had an inconsistent campaign. The transfer speculation certainly affected Davies’ performances last season. He lost his spot in the starting XI at the end of the season as Tuchel preferred Raphael Guerreiro or Nousair Mazraoui in the left-back position.

Davies has a point to prove next season. With a coach having faith in him, he will look to bounce back in the best possible way. If this will be his year with Bayern, Davies will look to go out with a bang and deliver consistent performances.
