Mikel Merino

If Bayern want an experienced player in the midfield like Palhinha, Real Sociedad’s Mikel Merino can be a good option. The Spaniard has been amongst the most consistent midfielders in La Liga over the last five seasons.

Merino can operate in number six and eight positions in the midfield. He has a good eye for playing the line-breaking passes. The 28-year-old is also dominant aerially and wins the majority of his tackles. Moreover, Merino has a knack for chipping in with goals and assists. He was involved in 12 goals in 43 appearances for Real Sociedad last season. He is currently part of Spain’s squad at the Euros.

The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder has just a year left on his contract at Real Sociedad. Considering his contract situation, he will be a feasible option for Die Roten.
