Senior players step up on the big night

Joshua Kimmich got all the plaudits on Wednesday for scoring the crucial goal, but he was not the only senior player to step up for Die Roten. Eric Dier delivered his best performance in a Bayern shirt against Arsenal. The English defender looked faultless defensively against the North London side.

Manuel Neuer rolled back years on Wednesday. He was brilliant as a sweeper keeper, helping Die Roten to nullify the threat of Arsenal’s youthful attack. Raphael Guerreiro proved his worth on the left flank. The Portuguese full-back gave Tuchel tactical flexibility on the left flank to nullify the threat of Bukayo Saka. Leon Goretzka, Leroy Sane, and Harry Kane were some of the other star performers for Bayern on Wednesday. Tuchel has certainly not lost the dressing room at Bayern. Every senior player stepped up and followed the game plan to perfection against Arsenal. Tuchel will hope to see similar performances from his senior players in the two games against Real Madrid.
