Alphonso Davies is a shadow of the player he used to be

Alphonso Davies may have played the full 90 minutes on Saturday, but at times he looked a bit lost. The Canadian international was out of position for Stuttgart’s second goal, beaten far too easily for the far post header. He also offered very little, both in defense and in attack.

Based on present form, Davies has become a defensive liability for Bayern Munich. Whether reported interest from Tuesday's opponents Real Madrid has something to do with it, that remains to be seen.

It would not be a surprise to see Noussair Mazraoui start at left-back on Wednesday. If Davies is to have a positive contribution, it may be better to play him as a left winger if Bayern are short of options in attack.

Davies may already be at the point of no return against the team he seems so keen to join. With his contract expiring at the end of next season, his Bayern days seem to be numbered.
