Bayern Munich will have to make do without Jamal Musiala for this weekend's crunch Bundesliga clash against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Ahead of Sunday's trip to Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayern Munich have suffered a big blow with Jamal Musiala set to miss the Bundesliga contest due to injury. The club has revealed that the talented playmaker is dealing with a hip injury and will thus be sidelined for the time being.
Jamal Musiala sidelined with injury
Musiala has also pulled out of the Germany squad for their upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands. VfB Stuttgart's Jamie Leweling has been called up by Julian Nagelsmann to replace the Bayern star.
The injury to Musiala is a blow for Bayern Munich as they look to return to winning ways after suffering their first defeat of the season on Wednesday against Aston Villa. The 21 year old has made an excellent start to the season, and has three goals and three assists to his name in eight appearances across all competitions.
Bayern will hope that the injury sustained by Musiala is not a serious one and he can return to action before long. It is thought that he suffered the injury during last weekend's home game against Bayer Leverkusen. Musiala came off the bench against Aston Villa.
It will be interesting to see how Bayern line up in attack without Jamal Musiala against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday. One of Leroy Sané and Kingsley Coman could replace him in the starting XI. Although Vincent Kompany could also tweak his system to compensate for Musiala's absence.
