Bayern Munich suffer injury blows in 3-3 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt
Bayern's bitter draw against Eintracht Frankfurt is only compounded by the latest injury updates on Dayot Upamecano and Mathys Tel as the club deals with an injury crisis going into the international break.
With the likes of Sacha Boey, Jamal Musiala, Hiroki Ito, and Josip Stanisic already out injured, Bayern Munich are likely to lose two more players, while they also wait on tenterhooks to know more about Harry Kane's situation.
Dayot Upamecano to miss international games because of injury
The French international was subbed off in the 90th minute of the game against Eintracht Franckurt when it looked like he had picked up an injury.
As per the latest updates from L'Équipe, Upamceano has suffered a hamstring injury. A big relief for Vincent Kompany's team is that the severity of the injury is not major. Upamecano is set to miss the national team games during the upcoming International break as he requires time to recover.
It is not yet known if the 24-year-old will be available for the game against Stuttgart (October 19).
In the possible case of Upamecano's absence, the center-back options at Kompany's disposal include Eric Dier and a make-shift one in Leon Goretzka. Hiroki Ito could also emerge as an option as the Japanese international looks to be nearing recovery from a toe injury sustained during pre-season.
Mathys Tel suffers shoulder injury
Mathys Tel came on in the 72nd minute and had a lively, yet largely ineffective cameo in the 3-3 draw against Frankfurt. As reported by Phillip Kessler of TZ, the 19-year-old suffered a shoulder injury during the game. Tel appears to have suffered shoulder ligament injury and is set to miss the France U-21 games during the international break.
The injury doesn't do the winger any good as he was already struggling to get minutes under Vincent Kompany and looked far from his best coming off the bench. Tel has accumulated a mere 158 minutes of playing time this season and is still to register a goal contribution.
Harry Kane injury scare
Bayern striker Harry Kane fell on the floor signalling discomfort in his right leg during the second half against Frankfurt. He didn't continue for long as Vincent Kompany made the decision to sub off the striker in the 72nd minute.
It is not yet known if Kane has endured any sort of injury. Taking him off could have only been a precautionary measure after all. It remains to see if the 31-year-old will play for England during the international break.
Bayern Munich return to action on October 19 in the Bundesliga clash against VfB Stuttgart.
