Aleksandar Pavlovic has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at Bayern Munich. After making his senior debut for Bayern in October, Pavlovic went from strength to strength and became a crucial player for the first team. The 20-year-old midfielder made 22 appearances across all competitions for Die Roten.

Thomas Tuchel trusted Pavlovic in big games, including the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu. He rounded off a fantastic debut season by getting a call-up for the German national team. The youngster is part of Julian Nagelsmann’s final list for the European Championship.

After the Euros, Pavlovic will sort out a minor problem that delayed his international debut. According to Bild, Pavlovic will undergo surgery to remove the tonsils that have troubled him during the season. The youngster was in Germany’s squad for friendlies during March but had to drop out due to tonsilitis.

Pavlovic missed a few games after the international break in March due to tonsilitis. Getting it removed will help him to heal over the summer and be ready for the start of the season. Moreover, he will not have to face the same problems once he gets operated.

Meanwhile, Bayern may reward Pavlovic's breakthrough season with a contract renewal. The youngster’s current deal is until 2027. Die Roten may extend it further and improve the terms of the contract as a reward for Pavlovic’s development.

The Euros will be a great learning experience for Pavlovic. He will not be Nagelsmann’s first pick in the midfield, but training with Toni Kroos will certainly help him to refine his game.

Bayern will look to build the central midfield around Pavlovic. The youngster will prominently feature in Vincent Kompany’s plans for next season. He should target 30 appearances for Bayern next season across all competitions. Along with giving him adequate game time, Die Roten should also manage his workload since he will be involved with the German national team in the Euros.

Pavlovic may have a new midfield partner at Bayern next season. The Bavarian club wants to sign Joao Palhinha from Fulham. The Portuguese midfielder is Die Roten’s top target to improve the midfield department. Die Roten tried to bring Palhinha to Munich last summer, but the transfer fell through at the eleventh hour on the deadline day. Pavlovic may operate more as an eight if he pairs up with Palhinha in the midfield for Die Roten next season.
