Bayern Munich have been executing a squad overhaul this summer. After losing the Bundesliga title last season, Bayern want to freshen up the squad to compete on all fronts from next season. The Bavarian club is ready to make tough decisions and part ways with a few senior players.

Kim Min-jae is not part of the list of players who are expected to leave Bayern this summer. The South Korean defender is eager to make up for the poor second half of last season. Kim Min-jae struggled for form in Ruckrunde after a successful first half of the campaign.

Min-jae's poor form and high-profile errors against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final led to doubts about his future at Bayern. Inter Milan and Napoli were heavily linked with Kim Min-jae, but he is determined to get back to his best in Munich.

While talking to media in South Korea (via iMiaSanMia), the 27-year-old defender once again reiterated his desire to stay at Bayern. He has ruled out a move away in the summer transfer window.

"I never thought about that. I want to work hard, give everything for Bayern and help the club."

Kim Min-jae has reportedly impressed Vincent Kompany during pre-season training. The South Korean defender is expected to be the first-choice center-back under the Belgian coach at the start of the season.

The former Napoli defender is expected to pair with Eric Dier in Die Roten’s first competitive game of the season later this month. They face Ulm in DFB Pokal on August 16. Kim Min-jae will look to build on a successful pre-season and achieve consistency in performances as he did in the first half of the season.

Bayern faced a big setback in the defensive department last week as new signing Hiroki Ito suffered a serious injury. Ito was the leading contender to partner with Kim Min-jae in the heart of defense against Ulm. The Bavarian club wants to strengthen central defense by signing Jonathan Tah, but a move for the German defender depends on the departure of Matthijs de Ligt. The Bavarian club has already rejected a combined offer from Manchester United for De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
