Summer acquisition Michael Olise is expected to nail down the starting spot on the right wing. Despite suffering two hamstring injuries with Crystal Palace last season, which limited him to just 19 games (14 starts) Olise notched ten goals and six assists. The 22-year-old French attacker went on to have a fantastic run at the Paris 2024 Olympics on home soil as France finished runners-up to Spain before he completed the move to Germany.

The left-footed Olise as an inverted winger brings back memories of Arjen Robben. There’s a similar dynamism to his game that will keep fans on the edge of their seats when he has the ball in the final third of the field.

To start the season, a resurgent Serge Gnabry seems to have nailed down the starting spot on the left wing. In the aforementioned season-opening 3-2 victory, Gnabry was a threat throughout the game against the Wolves before scoring the 82nd-minute winner. After suffering a horrid time with injuries last season, the 29-year-old attacker was expected to be sold over the summer, but so far, he seems determined to win over his new coach.

The versatile Mathys Tel will provide good backup on the left in addition to either central position in attack. Tel can be a handful for any defender with his pace and dribbling ability. Kingsley Coman, still in his prime at 28, can provide cover on either wing. Similarly, so to can Leroy Sané when he returns from injury.

As things stand Die Roten have two players for every position throughout the team. However, the current injury situation means that the team is a bit light on personnel in defense. If Kompany can find a way to improve the defense, the midfield, and attack should be able to ensure that Bayern are serious challengers for domestic and European trophies.
