Bayern Munich will have one player at the Euro final in Berlin on Sunday. Harry Kane led England side managed to clinch a thrilling late 2-1 win against the Netherlands on Wednesday to book a place in the final against Spain.

Kane converted the decisive penalty in the first half to level the score. Netherlands had taken an early lead, courtesy of a powerful strike from Bayern target Xavi Simons. Kane has not been at his best this tournament, but he has found a way to be amongst goals for England. It will be his second Euro final with England.

The 30-year-old forward will hope to clinch the trophy this time around after missing it out against Italy in 2021. Kane can become the outright top scorer in the tournament if he finds the back of the net against Spain on Sunday.

Bayern have no players in the Spanish squad, so the Bavarian faithful will be cheering for Kane to lift the trophy on Sunday. A good end to Euro 2024 for Kane will be the ideal springboard for him to continue his good scoring form for Bayern next season.

Meanwhile, the other Bayern player in the game- Matthijs de Ligt was an unused substitute for the Netherlands. It has been a disappointing tournament for De Ligt as he didn’t play a single minute. He was hopeful about making an impact later in the tournament, but Ronald Koeman persisted with the center-back pairing of Stefan de Vrij and Virgil van Dijk.

De Ligt will look to put the disappointment from Euro behind him as he enters the new chapter of his career. The Dutch center-back wants to join Manchester United after Bayern put him on the transfer list this summer. The Premier League side is in talks with Die Roten regarding a fee after agreeing terms with De Ligt.

The elimination of the Dutch team will also see movement in Bayern’s pursuit of Xavi Simons. The Bavarian club is negotiating with Paris Saint-Germain to sign the Dutch attacking midfielder on a loan deal.
