Joshua Kimmich (6/10)

Playing at right-back once again, Kimmich performed his defensive duties really well and was also involved in a number of dangerous Bayern moves. Bayern certainly missed his presence in midfield in the first-half.

Kim Min-jae (3/10)

Kim was a touch too late to react to Toni Kroos' through ball for Real Madrid's opener, giving Vinícius Jr. all the space and time he needed to make it 1-0. He didn't always look the most comfortable in possession, and then gave away a penalty to allow Real Madrid to get back on level terms. It was an evening to forget for the South Korean international, who will have to perform much better in the second leg if Matthijs de Ligt cannot recover in time.

Eric Dier (6/10)

Dier was solid in defense once again and made a couple of vital recoveries for his side. Although he will feel that he should have scored with his free header from a corner, and his diagonal long passes also left a lot to be desired.

Noussair Mazraoui (6/10)

Mazraoui made some decent forward runs and had some neat give-and-gos with his teammates. He looked uncertain at times defensively in the first-half, but got more comfortable as the game went on.
