Bayern Munich suffered their first defeat under coach Vincent Kompany against Unai Emery's Aston Villa in the UCL League phase clash at Villa Park. Jhon Durán's 79th-minute goal did the job for the English side after a largely toothless attacking performance from Bayern. Let's go through the player ratings for Die Roten going from the best to the worst.

Good

Kim Min-jae  - 8/10

The South Korean defender was among the few players who made a good account of themselves in defeat at Villa Park. He did well in maintaining the high line and warding off potential counterattacks. His recovery runs were on point, and most importantly the centre-back didn’t commit any silly errors.

Jamal Musiala - 8/10

Musiala looked bright after coming on in the second half. His presence was very much needed after the uninspiring attacking performance in the first half. The 21-year-old asked questions of Villa’s resolute defense with his quick feet and also made a brilliant pass to Gnabry who should've buried the chance.

Alphonso Davies - 8/10

Neat and tidy performance from the left-back. His pace and dribbling prowess helped a lot in beating Villa’s press.
