Bayern Munich started the second half of the season with a convincing win against Hoffenheim on Friday. The Bavarian club was far from their best as players were regaining rhythm after the winter break, but they did enough to get all three points and put the pressure on league leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

Jamal Musiala scored a brace for the home side before Harry Kane scored the third goal late in the game to seal all three points. The visitors had a man sent off in the second half, which made things easier for Bayern.

Courtesy of the win, Bayern moved to 41 points in the league table. They are currently just one point behind Bayer Leverkusen. Die Roten will have to win the majority of their games in Ruckrunde to retain the title since Leverkusen are unbeaten in the league under Xabi Alonso this season.

Musiala was the main man for Die Roten against Hoffenheim. He showed great composure to score both goals. While talking to Sky Sports’ Kerry Hau after the game, Musiala admitted that scoring more goals is on the list of targets for him during the second half of the season. The young attacking midfielder is working on his finishing to become more efficient in the final third.

""As many as possible. I'm working a lot on my finishing because I know that I have to make better use of my chances. Today was good, I have to continue the same way now.""

Jamal Musiala

Musiala has endured a stop-start campaign until now. The youngster had troubles with injuries during Hinrunde. He didn’t have several injuries, but whenever he was getting back in rhythm, another injury setback arrived. The winter break came at the right time for the youngster as he got enough time to recover and gain complete fitness.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has scored seven goals for Die Roten this season across all competitions. He has found the back of the net five times in the Bundesliga. In an ideal scenario, Musiala looks to at least double this tally by the end of the season.

In terms of creativity, Musiala is a key player for Rekordmeister. The team relies on him and Leroy Sane to create chances in the final third. Musiala has three assists to his name this season across all competitions. Along with scoring more goals, Musiala will look to get in double figures for assists this season.

While talking to DAZN (via iMiaSanMia) on Friday, Musiala also had special praise for Leroy Sane. The German winger had set up both goals for Musiala. Sane had a quiet end to the Hinrunde, but Tuchel is confident that Sane will regain the form that he showed during the majority of the first half of the season. Fit and Firing Sane and Musiala, along with Harry Kane, will make Bayern a scary prospect in the Bundesliga and Europe.
