After several months, Germany finally had a productive international break. They managed to clinch crucial wins against France and Netherlands by playing an attractive style of football. Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala was one of the impressive performers for Germany across the two games.

Musiala provided the assist for the equalizer against Netherlands on Tuesday. The young attacking midfielder has been linking up well with Florian Wirtz in the final third for Germany. He will be a key player for Germany and Julian Nagelsmann during the European Championship in the summer.

The 21-year-old has been in sensational form for Bayern over the last few weeks. Musiala has scored five goals and provided four assists in the last six games for Die Roten. After a frustrating Hinrunde due to injury and form, Musiala has looked back to his best in the second half of the season.

The Bavarian faithful will hope to see Musiala continue this good run of form and help the team end the season on a positive note. While talking to SportBild this week (via iMiaSanMia), Musiala admitted that he is currently playing the best football of his career. Despite the lack of goals and assists in Hinrunde, the youngster believes his game has reached next level this season.

""Yes. I feel like I'm playing my best football right now. Also, with a view to the entire season. I realize that I have taken a step forward. I'm scoring the goals and getting the assists you need to get attention. I've been playing consistently all season, the goal involvments have sometimes been lacking, but it's working very well in 2024. This is a big step, I want to carry on, continue to work hard and go into every game with energy and lots of action.""

Bayern want to build the team around Musiala. They are expected to open contract talks with the 21-year-old midfielder at the end of the season. His current deal expires in 2026. With Premier League giants interested in Musiala, Die Roten need to secure his future in the summer.

The record Bundesliga champions deliberated over contract talks with Alphonso Davies. The Canadian full-back has less than 15 months left on his deal. Davies was tipped to be part of Bayern’s spine for a long time, but he is now looking likely to join Real Madrid in the summer. The Bavarian club cannot afford to find themselves in the same situation with Musiala.

The German attacking midfielder will be a crucial player for Bayern in the Champions League. With the Bundesliga title looking unlikely, winning the Champions League remains the only possibility of silverware this season for Die Roten. Bayern will face Arsenal in the quarter-finals during the first half of April.

Bayern will resume competitive football after the international break against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. Musiala will look to continue his good goalscoring form as Die Roten look to build momentum ahead of the big games against Arsenal.
