Kim Min-jae

The South Korean central-defender was acquired to replace Lucas Hernandez who was sold to PSG over the summer. Kim Min-jae has been a constant for Bayern during the Hinrunde, playing in all 15 Bundesliga matches. With his combination of strength and speed, whilst being uncompromising in his tackles, the South Korean has been Bayern’s best defender so far this season. Rekordmeister’s league-leading seven clean sheets this season are in no small part due to him.

Apart from a blip against Saarbrucken in the DFB Pokal and the disappointing showing against Frankfurt, the South Korean ‘Monster’ has been worth every penny. He will be sorely missed while away on national team duty for the Asian Cup in January, and possibly part of February, depending on how far South Korea advance in the tournament.

The South Korean ‘Monster’ gets an impressive 9/10.
