Konrad Laimer

The 26-year-old Austrian international midfielder was initially acquired to provide cover and competition for the established midfield double pivot of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka.

At times, the Austrian was preferred over Leon Goretzka in midfield. Laimer has added steel to the midfield whenever he has been used as a number eight. On a few occasions, the Austrian midfielder was too eager when it came to tackling, which left gaps in midfield. Nevertheless, Laimer’s work rate and determination have been second to none in the squad.

With Bayern being short of depth at right-back, Laimer stepped up and did a fine job in the back four. The Austrian has been preferred over Noussair Mazraoui in some games since he has delivered quality performances in the right-back position.

Overall, both Bayern and Laimer can be pleased with his contributions to date. The tireless midfielder gets a solid 7/10.
