FC Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano has had his say on Vincent Kompany, and is already learning a lot from the Belgian trainer.
Vincent Kompany has marked the start of his tenure as Bayern Munich head coach with three wins in three matches. Dayot Upamecano has started in all three matches and is expected to play a key role for the Bavarians this season.
Dayot Upamecano hails Vincent Kompany's impact at Bayern Munich
Upamecano, who is currently away on international duty with France, was asked about the impact of Kompany at Bayern Munich during a press conference on Sunday. And the 25 year old said that he is very happy to have the Belgian as his head coach.
"I'm very happy he's at Bayern with us and I'm already learning a lot from him," Upamecano said. "He's a good coach who plays attractive football. He gives me a lot of advice because he played in my position for many years. As I said, I think I'm going to make a lot of progress with him."
Before he heads back to Bayern Munich, Upamecano will hope to help France get their UEFA Nations League campaign back on track after a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Italy on matchday one. The 2018 FIFA World Cup champions will go up against Belgium on Monday evening.

Dayot Upamecano joined Bayern Munich from RB Leipzig in 2021 and has made a total of 117 appearances for the club. He is expected to play from the start again as Bayern take on Holstein Kiel in the Bundesliga next weekend.
