Bayern Munich director Max Eberl did not hold back after Didi Hamann aimed more criticism at Harry Kane earlier this week.

Following Bayern Munich's defeat to Aston Villa in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday evening, Didi Hamann aimed criticism at a number of players in his column for Sky Sport. The former Liverpool and Manchester City player claimed that he is still skeptical of Harry Kane and his ability to make an impact in big matches, saying that the England captain was not signed by Bayern "to score hat-tricks against Darmstadt."

"Didi Hamann is like a tinnitus" - Max Eberl on criticism of Harry Kane

Max Eberl was asked about Hamann's criticism during Saturday's pre-match press conference. And the Bayern Munich board member for sport did not hold back. Eberl compared Hamann to his tinnitus, joking that he comes up every three days.

"Didi Hamann is like a tinnitus in my ear. It comes up every three days," Eberl said. He did not comment on Hamann's statements.

Eberl was referencing Hamann's criticism of Jamal Musiala, which became a big topic last month. Hamann had claimed that the talented playmaker is a "solo entertainer," an opinion that was labeled as "absurd and far-fetched" by Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund.

Even last season, many at Bayern (especially Thomas Tuchel) were left annoyed by some of the statements put out by Hamann in his column.

Harry Kane, who joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur last year, has scored 54 goals in 53 appearances for the club. He won the European Golden Boot award last season, and has started this campaign with eight goals and five assists in just eight appearances.
