Bayern Munich played out an entertaining 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in North London, with goals from Dayot Upamecano, Serge Gnabry, and Thomas Müller giving them the win.

Eric Dier and Harry Kane were gifted commemorative awards pre-match for their service to Spurs over the years as they returned to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium for the first time since joining Bayern Munich.

Vincent Kompany's side lined up like this; Neuer - Stanisic, Upamecano, Kim Min-Jae, Guerreiro - Kimmich, Pavlocvic - Muller, Musiala, Gnabry - Tel

It was the nightmare start for Bayern, as Dejan Kulusevski put the hosts in front inside the first minute of the game after a finish from close range.

Bayern did not let this change anything, however, and instantly took control of the game. Gnabry missed a good chance from close range after being well fed by Tel 11 minutes in.

Vincent Kompany's men got their reward soon after. Tel was once again in the thick of his action, with Upamecano tapping home from a yard out after Tel's header was well saved by Guglielmo Vicario.

Müller nearly made it 2-1 after Gnabry drove in a low cross towards the 34-year old, but Radu Dragusin was there to make a superb intervention and prevent a certain goal.

A few minutes later, however, and Bayern were ahead. Spurs were caught playing out from the back and Gnabry was able to convert at the same stadium where he scored four goals back in 2019.

Just before half-time, Dragusin hauled Tel down on the edge of the box as the young forward was racing away. From the free-kick, Guerreiro found Müller at the far post, and he was not to be denied this time as he scored with a diving header.

At half-time, Kompany introduced Ulreich for Neuer and Dier for Upamecano. After 51 minutes, Aznou, Vidovic and Laimer replaced Tel, Müller and Musiala respectively.

The second half wasn't as fruitful for Bayern, as Kulusevski halved the deficit on 61 minutes. Two minutes later, Palhinha and Coman replaced Pavlovic and Gnabry respectively.

Licina replaced Guerreiro with 10 minutes left, and Kane replaced Kimmich to an applause from the entire ground at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Overall, Bayern can be happy with their performance against a top side. They had 19 shots to Tottenham's 7, combined with 59% possession, and three big chances to one from their hosts.

Bayern play Austrian side WSG Tirol on Tuesday in their final pre-season friendly, before getting their season underway with the first round of the DFB-Pokal.
