Young Player of the Season
Bayern failed to sign a defensive midfielder last summer after a deal for Joao Palhinha fell through on the deadline day. Die Roten’s failure to land a midfielder paved the way for a breakthrough season for Aleksandar Pavlovic.
Pavlovic made his debut for Bayern in October against Darmstadt. He went from strength to strength after his debut and established himself as a first-team member by the end of the season. The 20-year-old midfielder made 22 appearances for Bayern across all competitions. He also chipped in with two goals and two assists.
The young German midfielder was trusted to deliver for Die Roten in big games, including the away clash against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final. Pavlovic has shown incredible temperament and composure in big games throughout the campaign.
A strong debut season with Bayern for Pavlovic has been rewarded with a place in Germany’s squad for the European Championship. He deservedly wins the Young Player of the Year award for Bayern.
