After a terrible week in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich responded with a colossal performance against Arsenal on Tuesday. Bayern clinched a 2-2 draw against the Premier League leaders to keep their hopes alive in the Champions League. Die Roten will have to win the second leg at Allianz Arena next week to book a place in the semi-final.

Akin to the home performance against Lazio in the previous round, Bayern showed a lot of grit and intensity to grind out a favourable result against Arsenal. They started the game on the front foot, but Arsenal broke the deadlock against the run of play. The visitors clawed their way back into the game by scoring two goals in the first half. Serge Gnabry scored the equaliser, while Harry Kane calmly converted the penalty to put Die Roten ahead in the game.

Leandro Trossard scored the equalizer for the Gunners late in the second half after Bayern’s stubborn defense kept them quiet for most of the second half. The visitors had the chance of sealing the victory at the death as Kingsley Coman’s effort struck the post. Nevertheless, it was a promising performance from Bayern after recent disappointments in the Bundesliga. Let us look at the key takeaways from an exhilarating clash between two European giants at the Emirates Stadium.
