3. Douglas Costa (€40m)
Third on the list of most expensive Bayern Munich sales of all-time is Douglas Costa, the Brazilian winger who tormented defenders for Bayern between the years 2015–2018 (also, he retured for a one season loan spell in 2020/21).
Costa was mostly known for his blistering pace and of course, silky footwork. One of the best dribblers in the world at the time, it was a surprise that he didn't quite live up to his earlier potential. Still, Bayern still managed to secure a tidy profit on his investment.
In 2018, Bayern Munich sold Douglas Costa to Juventus for a fee of €40m. This made Costa the third most expensive Bayern Munich sale of all-time. However, since this sale, another player has matched the transfer fee, meaning he must share this place on the pedestal. Any guesses who matched the fee?
