With Vincent Kompany now at the helm, Bayern Munich will have some promising transfer plans ahead of the summer transfer window. Given they finished the season empty-handed, which is completely unlike the historic club, Die Roten will be aware of their requirement to strengthen the squad this summer.

Therefore, it is no surprise to see Bayern Munich already linked to some exceptional young talents. Sticking out above all else is Xavi Simons, who has impressed the world and had his breakthrough in recent seasons. Earning a move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, Simons is yet to make a Ligue 1 appearance. However, this could remain the same, as he is a wanted star in the summer.

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Xavi Simons values a loan move to FC Barcelona for the 2024/25 season, over competitors Bayern Munich, Newcastle United and Chelsea. PSG is expected to allow Simons to leave in the summer but only on loan, which is a move that would benefit FC Barcelona, given their financial concerns.

Thankfully for Bayern Munich, they are not in a position where they must count change heading into the summer transfer window. It is well documented that they are an incredibly rich club and given the extra finances they are expected to make from big players sales this summer, Bayern are in a great position to rebuild the squad for the 2024/25 season.

While Xavi Simons would have been a great addition to the squad, this is not a position where Bayern Munich must necessarily strengthen. After all, he shares a position with Jamal Musiala, one of the greatest players in the world. It is highly unlikely that Simons would get in the squad ahead of Jamal Musiala, so one of them would need to play in a compromised position.

Long story short, Bayern Munich's finances are better spent elsewhere. Perhaps missing out on Xavi Simons is a bullet dodged as far as Die Roten are concerned.
