Pini Zahavi is a busy man right now when it comes to doing business with Bayern Munich. The experienced agent is negotiating a transfer for Jonathan Tah to join Bayern on a free transfer at the end of the season. Tah announced his departure from Bayer Leverkusen last month.

Apart from Tah, Zahavi is also holding talks with Bayern for the contract extension of Leroy Sane. The German winger was close to signing a new deal with Die Roten a few days ago, but he changed agents and brought Zahavi on board to negotiate his new contract.

Bayern were taken aback by Sane’s decision as they were confident of an extension on new terms. It does look like Sane wants much better contract terms than Die Roten had previously offered.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, Sane and his representatives have made a counter-offer. The German winger wants €12 million fixed salary plus €3 million in add-ons, primarily tied to appearances. Die Roten’s previous offer for Sane was €10 million plus fixed plus bonuses.

Sane remains keen on staying at Bayern Munich

Despite switching agents, Sane remains keen on extending his stay in Munich. The German forward has consistently insisted that he feels settled in Munich. He is enjoying his best season in Bayern colours when measured against goals and assists every campaign since arriving from Manchester City in 2020.

Meanwhile, Bayern are in no mood to raise the offer. Considering there are only a few weeks left on his contract, a decision either way is going to come soon. Rekordmeister have spent heavily on contract renewals of Joshua Kimmich, Alphonso Davies, and Jamal Musiala. They have to manage the wage bill better to make space for new signings.

Sane will not have limited options if he ends up leaving Munich. Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with a move for him, while FC Barcelona have shown interest in him in the past.

From Bayern’s perspective, they will have to look for a winger in the summer to replace Sane. Kingsley Coman is also expected to leave at the end of the season. The Bavarian club is working on a deal to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen. Sane’s departure will mean Bayern will need another attacker alongside Wirtz to strengthen the squad. Considering how well Sane has performed under Kompany this season, the Bavarian faithful will hope to see an agreement over contract renewal between the two parties.
