AC Milan leading the race to sign Goretzka
The former Schalke midfielder was in demand during the winter transfer window. Arsenal and Atletico Madrid showed concrete interest in signing him in January. However, he decided to stay in Munich and help the club in their bid to win a treble.
Goretzka will have plenty of suitors in the summer. He still has several years at the top level. Atletico Madrid may come back for him, but currently, AC Milan are reportedly leading the race to sign him. The German midfielder has held productive talks with the Italian club.
The 31-year-old will turn his attention to the World Cup. He is expected to play a key role for Germany in the summer. There will be further interest from other big European clubs if Goretzka excels in the USA during the World Cup. The German midfielder will most likely make a decision on his future after the tournament.
