Despite enduring a chaotic summer transfer window, Bayern Munich have tasted success with most of their signings. Luis Diaz has hit the ground running, providing the tenacity in the final third. Nicolas Jackson may not have scored a lot of goals, but he gives Vincent Kompany great tactical flexibility in the attack. Tom Bischof and Jonathan Tah have delivered good performances during Hinrunde.

Tah has seamlessly adapted to the new club, becoming the first-choice center-back option for Kompany. The German defender has formed a solid partnership with Dayot Upamecano in the heart of defense.

Along with delivering positive performances on the pitch, Tah is also part of the leadership group. The German international led Bayer Leverkusen to the Bundesliga title two years ago with his quality performances and leadership. It is not surprising to see him become one of the key voices in the dressing room at Bayern in his first season.

Tah got a good preparation for the season as he arrived early and played for Bayern in the Club World Cup. The German defender was surprised by the level of intensity at Bayern. While talking to AZ this week, Tah highlighted the notable change he experienced after arriving in Munich.

"The quality of training is outstanding – and the intensity. I've never experienced anything like it before. The fact that I can feel everyone giving their all in every training session, and that there's never a moment when they slow down: that's truly impressive – and the whole club exemplifies that."

Vincent Kompany played crucial role in Tah’s transfer

While talking to AZ, Tah also admitted that Kompany played a crucial role in helping him make the decision to join Bayern. The German defender also revealed that he has already learnt crucial things from Kompany when it comes to defending as a team.

Tah wanted to join Bayern in 2024. Bayern had agreed personal terms with him, but they couldn’t reach an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen over a transfer fee. The German defender decided to run down his contract at Leverkusen to explore the next step in his career.

Bayern were not heavy favourites to sign Tah until the final two months of the last season. FC Barcelona had reportedly held concrete talks with the German international. Die Roten moved swiftly to sign Tah once Eric Dier decided to leave Munich to join Monaco at the end of last season. The Bavarian club had to negotiate a fee with Bayer Leverkusen to get Tah released from his contract before the Club World Cup in June.

The transfer of Tah has turned out to be successful for Bayern until now. He is in the prime of his career, giving Bayern a solid chance of winning multiple trophies over the next few seasons.
