After just seven games, we've hit the first international break of the new season, and as international breaks always do, it has already stirred up much talk online. One of the biggest critiques or complaints of the international breaks is that, for the most part, they are completely unnecessary. Unless the teams are playing qualifiers for major tournaments like the Euros or World Cup, nine times out of ten, all these international breaks do is cause injuries, and that is exactly the case with one of Bayern's most important players.

FC Bayern Munich has officially announced on X that Jamal Musiala has left the Germany camp early due to a thigh muscle injury and will return to Munich to begin his recovery, and as later reported by Sky Sports Germany, Musiala is expected to be sidelined for three to four weeks due to his injury. The 23-year-old was scheduled to start Germany's Nations League match against the Netherlands before going off injured in warmups just minutes before kickoff.

Bayern Munich hit with their first big injury of the season

This injury is the latest in the 23-year-old's string of unlucky injuries over the last two seasons. He suffered a broken ankle during last summer's Club World Cup, which kept him sidelined for months, and dealt with some nagging ligament injuries after he returned last season. He also had a stint on the sidelines to start the new season due to a scary neurological issue, but that seems to have been sorted, only for him to once again see a stint on the sidelines with a new injury.

How exactly Vincent Kompany will fill his absence remains unknown at this time but thankfully, he does have a few options he could use. He could shift Michael Olise from the right-wing to Musiala's number 10 position and play someone like Lennart Karl or Serge Gnabry on the right wing, or he could use either of the new summer signings of Nathaniel Brown or Ismael Saibari as a number 10, which allows Olise to keep his favored right wing role.

For Bayern, this injury does come at both a good and a bad time. With his recovery expected to be somewhere around three to four weeks, that would mean he would only miss the international break, and could be back fit by the time club football returns in early October.

However, should his recovery take longer than first expected, Bayern could be without one of their key attackers with big clashes coming up against Augsburg, RB Leipzig, and a huge Champions League clash with Arsenal. Obviously, Bayern would be hoping for the first option that his recovery is as long as initially expected but unfortunately, in the world of football, not everything goes the way you want it to.
