Option 2 - Add more speed to the back-line

There is also the possibility of a much more traditional set-up. Palhinha’s main weakness is he is not the most mobile player, he lacks the pace of other players.

As a result, Vincent Kompany may look towards Konrad Laimer at right-back instead of Guerreiro, to give the team some extra speed when it comes to rest defense.

Fortunately, with the lightning speed of Davies, as well as Kim and Upamecano being fairly quick themselves, there is already quite a bit of speed in the Bayern back four. However, all three of Palhinha, Kimmich, and Guerreiro defending big space in transition might be seen as too slow, particularly in the big games.

It will certainly not be easy for Bayern Munich to cope in the absence of Pavlović, who has quickly become a very important player for club and country. But Kompany and co. will hope to find solutions quickly with games coming thick and fast, starting with the Champions League clash against FC Barcelona.
