Not just a left-winger
Whilst mostly hailed for his impressive play on left wing, Diaz has successfully demonstrated different facets to his game in recent years. At Liverpool, under both Klopp and Slot, apart from being a threat to create or score from the left, Diaz has, more often than not, been effective playing on the right and through the middle when tasked with doing so.
This sort of flexibility will add another layer to Kompany’s options. It should be no surprise to see the Colombian being deployed on the right or as a false nine. With Jamal Musiala still on the mend, Diaz could even be slotted in behind Harry Kane.
Overall, Diaz brings a lot to the table with his guile, speed, and work ethic. If the injury gods treat him and Bayern favorably for the upcoming season, there’s no reason why he wouldn’t endear himself to the Bavarian faithful.
