Which Bayern Munich players could stand out against PSG

Dayot Upamecano and Joshua Kimmich

There are a lot of players that can make a difference for Bayern in this heavyweight clash on Tuesday. I have said this before and I will continue to say it: this FC Bayern side may be one of the best they have had in a few seasons.

Defensively, the players that have played the most pivotal roles so far this season have been Dayot Upamecano and Joshua Kimmich. The former has been solid and has been the mainstay of most of the strong defensive displays Bayern have had this season, rarely making mistakes that have led to any type of goal scoring chances. The latter, who has been--arguably--one of the best defensive midfielders in the world for some time now, has done all of the dirty work on the defensive end that nobody ever talks about. He shuts down the passing lanes most players don't even see with incredible positioning, and he runs from whistle to whistle with incredible valor. We have to give this man his flowers: he has been absolutely incredible so far and will have a massive say in the discussion of who will win this match.

Harry Kane (of course) and Serge Gnabry

Offensively, I think we could talk about Harry Kane all day. Of course, he will be a big part of either Bayern's struggle or their success in just how far they will get this season, but I'd rather talk about a player I haven't yet discussed in my writing. Serge Gnabry, a player who hasn't been putting up big numbers for the large part of his spell with Bayern, has really started to hit a run of form that could make him a key player in this "battle of big teams" this week. He isn't a guy that really jumps off the page with his stat line, but the intelligence he displays when he has the ball at his feet makes Arsenal rue the day they let him leave so easily. He has been riddled with injuries over the past couple of seasons, but when he is healthy, he is a man on a mission and he gets goals when Bayern need them. If he is able to use his abilities against PSG on Tuesday, he may be THE difference maker in a very tight match.
