Michael Olise: A

To be honest, I didn't really know what to expect from Olise in this match. After watching the first 17 minutes, however, and then seeing how he stepped up after Bayern were widdled down to ten men, I started feeling like he had settled into his role as a playmaker out on the right-hand side and somewhat took over the game. Tactically, he dropped back more and more to become a chance creator, thus allowing Musiala to push forward a bit more and get involved in the attacking play. He continuously used his technical ability successfully to draw fouls and give Bayern set piece opportunites in the final third. As much as he controlled the forward play in the first half, he was also a trooper and tirelessly tracked back to help out defensively so that he could win the ball and give FC Bayern a fighting chance on both sides of the ball. I was thoroughly impressed with his play today.

Jamal Musiala: A+

Here we go. I was honestly not even going to write anything about him and just put "man of the match" because he really seems to be every time he steps on the field. The entirety of the match it seemed like he was anticipating Leverkusen's passing lanes. He continued to put in good work on the defensive end, was equally impressive going forward, and showed his class by giving beautiful passes in final third. I have to say, after watching him play, it seems to me that the ball likes to stick to his feet, as he is constantly able to draw fouls with his dribbling abilities. Not only is it as if he has a magnetic boot, but he stays two steps ahead of everybody and makes football look easy. He nearly got an assist when he released Laimer in the 45th minute and kept taking it to Xhaka and winning the duels going forward. Had Bayern won this game, it would have been because of him.

Kingsley Coman: A

I actually thought he was the best player for most of the second half for FC Bayern, as he would take on the entire defense it seemed and carve out chances like they weren't there. In the first half, he took a few good shots but wasn't able to really carve out anything great on the ground and missed a few decent header opportunites as well. He was spectacular in using his movement as well, and he had some great first touches, but he was somewhat lacking on final passes throughout the game. Defensively, like most of the Bayern wingers it seems, he put in some effortless challenges and won the ball back. I truly thought he was brilliant for the most part but made way in the 73rd minute so that Gnabry could come on.
