Bayern Munich are close to completing a deal for the departure of one of their three senior outfield players who are not part of Vincent Kompany’s plans. Joao Palhinha is close to leaving Bayern to complete a permanent move to Benfica.

Die Roten still have a few details to sort out before Palhinha can undergo the medical at the Portuguese club. Along with Palhinha, Bayern have also been looking for new clubs for Bryan Zaragoza and Sacha Boey.

Zaragoza couldn’t feature in the pre-season for Bayern as he has been recovering from knee inflammation that kept him out for several weeks during the second half of the season.

There has been significant interest from Spain in Zaragoza. According to Mundo Deportivo, Espanyol are showing the most concrete interest in Zaragoza. The Spanish club wants to sign Zaragoza on a loan deal with Die Roten covering a significant portion of his wages.

Sevilla are also back in the race to sign Zaragoza as they prepare for the departure of Ruben Vargas. Die Roten are looking for a permanent deal. It remains to be seen what ballpark figure Bayern have in mind for the 24-year-old winger.

Move to La Liga will be the ideal move for Bryan Zaragoza

Zaragoza has spent the last two seasons on loan away from Bayern. He had a productive spell at Osasuna, but last campaign was disappointing for him as he had unsuccessful spells at Celta Vigo and AS Roma. The Spanish forward has made only seven appearances for Die Roten after joining the club in January, 2024.

The 24-year-old winger will not get game time at Bayern as there are several players ahead of him in the attacking positions. Bayern do not consider him to be part of their long-term plans, so a permanent move would be better for him to kick-start his career. He has done well in La Liga throughout his career, so a move to Espanyol or Sevilla would suit him over a move to another league.

Die Roten will hope to find a solution for Zaragoza sooner rather than later, as there are few days left in the window to complete a permanent transfer. If there are no permanent offers in the next few days, Bayern are likely to open the door for a loan move. As things stand, Zaragoza’s contract with Die Roten expires in 2029. They will hope to include an option or obligation to buy in any loan deal for the Spanish winger.
