The final week of the winter transfer window at Bayern Munich will be dominated by Mathys Tel. The French forward has made up his mind regarding his future in Bavaria.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Mathys Tel has made the final decision to leave Bayern Munich in the coming days. Bayern and the player's camp will now assess all the options in the market as they have just 5 days till the winter transfer window closes. Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sport reports that Bayern are primarily discussing a loan deal, with or without an option to buy, for Mathys Tel. However, a permanent sale is also a possibility.

The 19-year-old had been pondering about his future at the club for quite some time and has now finally made up his mind. Tel was an unused substitute in Bayern's last three matches. This could have very well helped him come to the conclusion that a move away might be in his best interest.

Tel's priority had always been to stay and succeed at Bayern Munich. Head coach Vincent Kompany held several talks with the player and reaffirmed his confidence in him for the future. Despite Kompany's assurances, the Frenchman has barely played this season.

Tel has managed just 8 appearances in the Bundesliga, out of which just two have come from the starting eleven. Last season he played 1031 minutes in the league, meanwhile this season, with more than half the campaign already elapsed, he has spent just 253 minutes on the field. The 19-year-old's development has severely stagnated at Bayern Munich and regular game time at a different club may be the only way to bring back the talent and potential he once displayed.

7 clubs including Chelsea interested in signing Tel

Mathys Tel has no shortage of interest all across Europe as at least seven clubs have lined up to offer loan or permanent deals for the youngster. Chelsea are still interested in making a a move for the versatile forward and may open talks with Bayern once again for a Nkunku-Tel swap deal. However, it remains to see whether Bayern are still interested in purchasing Christopher Nkunku, and if so, under what terms. Olympique Marseille is also understood to be one of the clubs interested in signing Tel.

According to Lequipe, the French club had inquired Bayern about his situation a few weeks ago. Eintracht Frankfurt, who recently sold their striker Omar Marmoush to Man City, also maintain an interest in Tel.

For Bayern Munich the big question will be if they decide to let go of Tel on a permanent transfer or on a loan deal. The Bavarian club had signed the player from Rennes back in 2022 for a €28.5 million fee. The winter transfer window in Germany will remain open until February 3.
