Musiala building healthy habit of scoring in tough away games

Harry Kane has been the go-to player for Bayern Munich this season in terms of contributions in the final third. However, Jamal Musiala is developing the habit of scoring valuable goals away from home. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder scored his fifth away goal in the league on Saturday. In fact, all of his goals in the Bundesliga have come away from home.

Musiala was the best forward on the pitch for Bayern against Dortmund. He had two shots on the goal and created four chances for the visitors. The German attacking midfielder was also very secure on the ball, completing 88% of his attempted passes. His dribbling and immaculate close control were causing problems for Dortmund even though the hosts had so many players behind the ball.

The 21-year-old German international has developed a knack for scoring poachers’ goals in the box this season. He made a terrific run in the box to head the ball past Gregor Kobel in the 85th minute to bring parity to the score. After scoring only two headers in his entire career before the start of the season, Musiala has five headed goals for club and country this campaign.

Musiala has taken his game to the next level this season. He is showing more maturity on the ball, along with showing a killer edge in the box. The German attacking midfielder is becoming a more reliable player for Die Roten in tough away games across all competitions.

The Bavarian faithful would like to see Musiala sign a new deal sooner rather than later as he continues to take massive strides on the pitch.
