Ahead of the return of Champions League football for Bayern Munich, they will be playing this week's Bundesliga game on Friday. The Bavarian club will host Borussia Mönchengladbach on matchday 25 of the Bundesliga.

Bayern have managed to wrestle back the momentum in the Bundesliga after a slight stutter at the end of January. The Bavarian club is currently on a winning run of four games in the league. They have been exceptional at home, which suggests Friday’s game should be straightforward for Vincent Kompany’s men. The good form has ensured Die Roten have opened up a lead of 11 points at the top of the table.

Meanwhile, Borussia Monchengladbach have struggled in the Bundesliga in recent weeks. They have won only one of their last five league games. Gladbach are currently 12th in the points table, just three points above the relegation zone. They need to win more regularly in the next few weeks to seal their participation in the Bundesliga next season. A positive result on Friday can give them the ideal base to build on over the final stretch of the season.

Team News

Bayern Munich will be without their attacking talisman, Harry Kane, for the game against Borussia Monchengladbach. The English suffered a minor knock in training this week. He is expected to be back for next week’s Champions League game against Atalanta.

Hiroki Ito and Alphonso Davies have been running on the pitch this week, but they will not be fit for the clash against Gladbach. Manuel Neuer has recovered from his injury, so he should be fit to start on Friday.

Predicted Starting XI

Jonas Urbig has not done much wrong in the last couple of games when he has started in the goal. However, the return of Manuel Neuer will ensure Urbig is on the bench against Borussia Monchengladbach. Bayern will want Neuer to get some game time before the Champions League clash against Atalanta.

Vincent Kompany may rotate a bit in this game, resting players for the Champions League game. Jonathan Tah will start alongside Kim Min-jae in the heart of defense. Raphael Guerreiro will slot in the left-back position, while Konrad Laimer is expected to start in the right-back role.

Leon Goretzka will start in the center of the park, allowing Aleksandar Pavlovic to get some rest before the trip to Bergamo on Tuesday. Joshua Kimmich will be the other midfield player for Die Roten against Gladbach.

In the absence of Harry Kane, Nicolas Jackson will get a rare start to lead the attack. Jamal Musiala will slot in the number ten with Luis Diaz and Michael Olise starting on either side of him. Kompany will hope Bayern are cruising at halftime so that he can substitute Diaz and Olise early in the second half.

Predicted Starting XI: Neuer; Guerreiro, Tah, Kim Min-jae, Laimer; Kimmich, Goretzka; Diaz, Musiala, Olise; Jackson

Score Prediction

Bayern Munich 3-0 Borussia Monchengladbach

Bayern Munich are in the middle of a great run of results, while Gladbach have struggled lately. It will be a major surprise if the hosts don’t make the most out of their good form and get a comfortable win on Friday.
