Bayern Munich have no plans to part ways with Paul Wanner this summer. However, the youngster is expected to get another loan move to get regular game time.
According to Bild (via iMiaSanMia), Stuttgart has shortlisted Bayern Munich's top academy product, Paul Wanner, as a potential candidate to replace Enzo Millot. The 19-year-old attacking midfielder is rated highly by head coach Sebastian Hoeness. As Bayern intends to let Wanner go out on loan for another season, a move to Stuttgart could make a lot of sense. They are an attacking-minded club that will compete in Europe next season, which fits the bill of a potential loaning destination Bayern has in mind for Wanner.
Apart from Stuttgart, Heidenheim is also determined to extend Paul Wanner's loan spell for another year. Paul Wanner had a great start in the 2024/25 season with four goals and two assists in his first four competitive games in Heidenheim color. His form fell off after the first half of the campaign alongside the club's poor results. Heidenheim fell close to the relegation zone and had to compete in the Playoffs against Elversberg to retain their spot in the German top flight. In the return leg, Wanner showed his quality coming off the bench with the game-winning assist to keep the club in the Bundesliga in the next season.
However, a return to Heidenheim is unlikely as Bayern will seek to move Wanner to a more high-profile club. This will be his chance to show that he can compete at a higher level and prove himself as a top-level prospect.
Paul Wanner will not travel with Bayern to North America for the FIFA Club World Cup. Instead, he will feature for Germany at the U21 European Championship. This is also a valuable opportunity for the young lad to display his ability.
RB Salzburg complete deal for Frans Kratzig, Dinamo Zagreb seeking Gabriel Vidovic transfer
Wanner's fellow loanee to Heidenheim, Frans Kratzig, has confirmed his departure from the Allianz Arena. The 22-year-old versatile player will move permanently to RB Salzburg. Kratzig emerged from Bayern's youth setting and signed his professional contract in 2021. He had a memorable 2023 when he scored an outstanding long-range goal for Bayern in the pre-season against Liverpool to win the Singapore Trophy. Kratzig made his debut later in the season and scored one goal. He was loaned out to Austria Wien, Stuttgart, and lately Heidenheim, but could not show his quality.
Dinamo Zagreb has reportedly shown interest in Gabriel Vidovic. The 21-year-old came to Croatia on loan last season and impressed the club. They are seeking a permanent deal for Vidovic this time around.
